Team Talks: Get to know Niki, Chief of Staff
Welcome to another edition of Team Talks, where we share the stories and experiences of our Parakar team. Our people are the heart of what we do, and today we’re excited to feature Niki, our Chief of Staff. Find out about Niki’s journey at Parakar, what she loves about her job, and how she keeps growing in her role.
Can you tell us how you ended up at Parakar and what attracted you to the company?
After nearly 9 years with my previous employer, I felt it was time for a new challenge in my career. I was seeking a project management role in a small-to-medium-sized business, and with Parakar’s rapid growth, it became clear there was a need for someone to oversee various ongoing projects. After two memorable interviews, I was excited to get started. What draws me to Parakar is our agility and drive for continuous improvement.
What aspects of Parakar’s company culture make it a unique place to work for you?
The amazing team is a major highlight! Working within an international, dynamic, and professional team motivates me every day. We collaborate with teams abroad and enjoy many fun events, with our annual team event being my personal favorite. Parakar also supports personal development, offering numerous opportunities for growth.
Could you share your journey briefly at Parakar so far?
I joined Parakar in August 2022, and my first major project was expanding our operations into four new countries: the UK, Portugal, Italy, and Poland. With a small team, we made the fundament, which was later taken over by local teams. Since then, I’ve been involved in a variety of projects, from centralizing business insurance to launching our revamped website, relocating our headquarters, and implementing new services with the Business Development team.
Could you share an example of some work you’re proud of?
I’m particularly proud of the significant growth I’ve experienced over the past two years, which has been recognized with my recent promotion my new role. This role allows me to support the management team, ensure organizational alignment, and drive our goals efficiently and effectively!
What are some of the key responsibilities and challenges you encounter in your role as Chief of Staff?
My role involves being the right hand to the management team, ensuring we stay aligned and meet our organizational goals. With our focus on innovation, change management and communication are key challenges. I work to ensure that our innovations are implemented seamlessly and effectively.
How do you stay motivated and inspired at work?
The entire team’s drive to move forward inspires me every day. We’re always open to new plans, which are often implemented quickly. The variety of tasks keeps the work dynamic and exciting, making each day a new challenge.
How do you see the future, and how do you think Parakar will continue to differentiate itself in this industry?
Predicting the future in our fast-evolving industry is challenging, but it’s definitely exciting. Parakar’s ability to adapt and often stay ahead of changes positions us strongly to continue differentiating ourselves and leading the way.
Lastly, what would you like to share with others considering entering or applying to Parakar?
Just do it! You’re always welcome for a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine on Friday afternoons). We look forward to meeting fun people ready to join our dynamic team!
