In this edition, we’re excited to introduce Simon, our Business Development Director, who plays a key role in driving Parakar’s growth. Join us as we explore Simon’s journey.

Can you tell us how you ended up at Parakar and what attracted you to the company?

For my previous job, Parakar was one of our most trusted In-Country-Partners, and it was always a delight dealing with them. It felt a bit risky moving Global to a European model, however the boldness of Parakar captivated me, along with the teams operating. There’s a spirit of adventure at Parakar that resonates deeply with my personal work ethic, which I call the “3G” principle: being a Great Company, Great to Work With, and providing Great Results. It was an exciting opportunity to not only expand services but also to elevate our expertise and introduce new offerings. The challenge was set, and I was ready to embrace it!

What aspects of Parakar’s company culture make it a unique place to work for you?

What makes Parakar’s company culture unique for me is the energy and the captivating spirit that flows through the entire team. I’m drawn to the boldness of its people and the fact that Parakar is, at its core, a people-first business. While it might seem obvious that a company specializing in employment, especially in the EOR space, would be people-focused, this isn’t always the case in today’s global market.

Many large operators resemble a Pac-Man, devouring clients through powerful marketing, but often losing the human touch in the process. These companies tend to function more like “platforms,” relying heavily on technology as their primary selling point.

In contrast, Parakar is a people-driven solution, built by people and dedicated to supporting people. This personal connection is one of our most powerful assets. It’s not just about technology—it’s about the genuine support network we offer to both our clients and employees. No matter which country we operate in, there’s always someone available to provide guidance. And trust me, that level of personal care and connection is the best deal anyone could ask for.

Could you share an example of some work you’re proud of?

The launch of Parakar’s Full Service offering. EOR is a brilliant business development tool, allowing companies to expand internationally without the burden of setting up their own entities. Through Parakar, businesses can quickly establish in-country teams, with local support and guidance. But what happens next? This is what caught my interest—empowering our customers in the next phase of their journey.

When most EOR providers offboard their clients after a successful run, about 70% of those customers move on to establish their own legal entities. With Parakar’s Full Service, we’re stepping in to support that transition. We now offer a solution for EOR clients ready to take their business to the next level. We guide them through setting up their own entities while continuing to provide the same employment support they’re accustomed to—at half the price of an EOR. It’s like offering them a total package to continue their international expansion with consistency, support, and the same high-level service they’ve experienced with us.

What are some of the key responsibilities and challenges you encounter in your role at Parakar?

It’s a challenge to introduce new methods of business, getting every department and person onboard with supporting change, not allowing us to drop the ball in our core operations, but stretching to manage new things. Its like trying to conduct an orchestra, getting every member of the group to trust you, to make changes and have that leap of faith. However the challenge is to then keep everyone operating in synchronization, and performing together. I feel though that we are now moving into the concert hall, finding our beat together. Providing headlights and vision to achieve. But a win for us, is a win for our customers. Must always believe in the mission and stay relevant.

How do you see the future, and how do you think Parakar will continue to differentiate itself in this industry?

The future, as always, will present significant challenges. We’re witnessing a forced shift towards a technocracy, placing immense pressure on culture and values. Parakar and its people can be key influencers in helping navigate these challenges.    

In a world where technology increasingly dominates, we need to ensure that humanity remains at the forefront. We’re becoming more data-driven, with data itself holding immense value, and while technology will undoubtedly reshape everything we do there’s still room for us to guide this transition thoughtfully. It’s about leveraging technology for efficiency while ensuring that people are always supported by the right tools, not overshadowed by them.

I’m particularly interested in the roles AI and Blockchain will play in the future of employment. The concept of “Work from Anywhere” excites me, as it aligns with the idea of empowering people with greater choice and flexibility. For Parakar, it’s about finding new ways to make life easier for our internal teams, as well as our customers and their employees.

By adapting the future of AI and focus on human-centered solutions, we can continue to differentiate ourselves and thrive in this evolving landscape.

Lastly, what would you like to share with others considering entering or applying to Parakar?

Parakar is all about family and teamwork, and I have immense respect for the leadership that continues to foster this culture. We work closely with many young professionals who are just starting their own journeys, providing them with the training they need to grow. It’s inspiring to show them the value of supporting others and to witness how we, alongside our customers, evolve together. In this industry, service always comes first, but just as important is the power of connection—with teammates, customers, institutions, competitors, and employees.

We share stories, seek out innovation, and encourage open dialogue, which is a perfect environment for business development. My advice?
