Team Talks: Meet Anne, Content Marketing Intern
At Parakar, we believe in giving young professionals the freedom and responsibility to contribute meaningfully from day one. In this edition of Parakar Team Talks, we sat down with Anne, our Content Marketing Intern, to learn more about her journey, the projects she’s proud of, and what makes her internship experience so rewarding.
From Bilingual High School to International Marketing
Anne is currently in her second year of International Bachelor Communication and Media (IBCoM) at Erasmus University Rotterdam. With a bilingual (Dutch-English) educational background and a strong interest in international environments, choosing an internationally oriented study came naturally.
“I’ve always known I wanted to work in an international setting. That’s why I was drawn to IBCoM, and to Parakar. Both combine global thinking with communication, which fits me perfectly.”
While the internship is a study requirement, Anne took the opportunity to explore marketing in practice, beyond the theory she learned in the classroom.
“Before joining Parakar, I didn’t have a clear idea of what marketing looked like day-to-day. I soon discovered it’s all about crafting a story around your brand, through visuals, tone, and content. That’s what excites me: giving meaning and identity to a brand, but always based on truth and authenticity.”
A Day in the Life: Creativity Within Structure
Anne’s role touches many different aspects of marketing. From managing Parakar’s content across LinkedIn and the website to translating pages and designing branded materials, each day brings a new challenge. Fridays are a particular favorite, not because the work changes, but because of the weekly ritual of heading to the local market with colleagues for pastries and fried fish. One project she’s especially proud of is the “Let’s Get Started” guides for HR services: downloadable documents that help clients understand how to begin hiring in different Parakar countries.
“At first, I thought: am I really capable of visually designing something like this on my own? But I quickly realized I’m more creative than I thought. Working with Kayleigh and Kim was such a great experience, they trusted me to lead the design process while respecting Parakar’s branding.”
Collaboration and Culture at Parakar
Anne frequently works with departments like HR, EOR, and Payroll to translate their input into on-brand, visually engaging content, a process she genuinely enjoys. What stands out to her is the strong sense of collaboration and appreciation across teams, regardless of role or seniority.
“There’s a real sense of appreciation between teams here. You give input, receive feedback, and together you create something valuable. Even as an intern, I’ve always felt like an equal.”
She believes this inclusive culture is what truly sets Parakar apart.
“The culture here is incredibly inclusive, across cultures, genders, and job roles. There’s no strong hierarchy, and everyone is approachable. It’s a professional environment where you can still laugh, share ideas, and be yourself.”
It’s also what makes Parakar’s culture-focused posts perform so well on social media. Anne has seen first-hand how content like onboarding weeks or team photo shoots consistently attracts engagement, because it highlights the human side of the company.
Her Advice for Future Interns?
“Just go for it. You’ll learn so much, and the culture is truly supportive. There’s flexibility, freedom, and room to grow. From the very beginning, I felt like I was part of something, not just doing intern tasks, but actually contributing.”
