Are you experienced in payroll management in Portugal and eager to apply your expertise in a dynamic international environment? We are looking for a Payroll Consultant with strong knowledge of Portuguese payroll and experience with Spanish payroll is a significant plus.
You will support our payroll operations in (mainly) Portugal, and in Spain, advising clients on local payroll rules and ensuring accurate, compliant payroll services. You will connect systems and processes, train colleagues, and act as a key link between HR and Finance operations. Additionally, we plan to change our payroll systems for Portugal in 2026, and you will play a significant role in this transition.
As our clients’ payroll provider, you will help translate their international HR policies into local employment relationships and ensure employees are paid correctly while complying with local laws. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to deliver the high-quality service Parakar is known for.

This is your job if
- You hold a relevant bachelor’s degree and/or have the equivalent experience and mindset;
- You are an expert in Portuguese payroll regulations and have at least 3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar;
- Ideally, you also have experience with Spanish payroll regulations;
- Professional command of the Portuguese and English language (C1 level or higher) both written and spoken;
- Ideally, you also master the Spanish language;
- Strong plus:experience with Sage payroll software (Spain) and general HR experience in Portugal and/or Spain is very welcome;
- You are motivated to learn more about the complex HR-, employment-, legal-, payroll-, tax- and immigration regulations particularly in our international employment outsourcing context;
- You are eager to learn, proactive, able to handle multiple tasks, and detail-oriented.

- A starting salary of between €2750 and €4000 gross per month (depending on your experience);
- An end-of-year bonus potential of 10%, depending on your personal and company goals;
